"Of The Ice"
Mother Polar Bear and Cubs
The polar bear is the largest land predator on earth, with
some males exceeding 1500 pounds. The scar on this
female's face depicts the challenges that life in the far north can
offer. Aside from severe artic weather conditions, she must
always be on the lookout for hunting males. In spite of this
fear, the biggest threat to her cubs survival lies in something they
have no control over. Global warming is melting the pack ice
with which the polar bears are so deeply connected. Do we wish
to see this magnificent creature vanish on our watch? The
choice is ours. |
